4. Summary of Important Notes
1. Notes on Competition Rules and Penalties
HYROX has strict rules. Beginners often make mistakes on these three points in particular.
Counting running laps is your "Own Responsibility"- The number of laps for each run (1km) depends on the course length of the venue (e.g., 2.5 laps if one lap is 400m).
- Note: If you enter the ROXZONE with insufficient laps, a "3 to 5-minute time penalty" will be added, or in the worst case, you will be disqualified. Although it is managed by the timing chip, strictly count it yourself.
Judges are strictly watching movements at each station.
- Wall Balls: Squat is too shallow (hips not below knees).
- Burpees: Chest not touching the ground.
- Lunges: Knee not touching the ground.
These will not be counted and must be redone. Since this consumes stamina significantly, aim for careful movement.
2. Notes on Equipment and Wear
- If you remove clothing due to heat during the race, leaving it on the course or handing it to supporters is prohibited. You must carry the removed clothing to the finish line or tuck it into your waistband. It is safer to keep it on unless you are prepared to discard it or start without it.
- In principle, shoes must be worn at all times during the race. Soccer spikes or track shoes with metal pins are prohibited. Choose standard running shoes or training shoes.
- Wearing headphones or earphones is not recommended (almost prohibited).
- Wearing knee supports and gloves is OK.
3. Notes on Race Day Operations and Venue
- Do not forget your photo ID, as it is required at reception.
- Proxy check-in is not allowed.
- Bag drop takes time, so please allow plenty of time.
- Strictly NO lateness for your start time.
4. Notes for Spectators
- Spectators must purchase an admission ticket.
- Your race wristband allows entry to the venue only on the day of your race. If you wish to enter on other days, you must purchase a spectator ticket.
- Supporters cannot enter the race course (Running Course or ROXZONE).
Summary
HYROX is not just a race; it is an event to challenge your limits and taste a sense of accomplishment. The feeling of achievement at the finish line and the sense of unity with the global fitness community will be an experience like no other. Instead of vague goals like "I want to lose weight" or "I want to get fit," why not set a clear goal of "Finishing HYROX"?
